After setting out from Malmö we headed south. One of the longest drives in one day and definitely amazed the girls were great throughout the entire twelve hours! After crossing the enormous bridge linking Denmark and Sweden, we travelled the length of Denmark before hopping onto a ferry at Rodbyhavn and crossing over to Germany. From there it was Autobahn all the way to Amsterdam. Today was spent wandering around the beautiful canals and streets of Amsterdam. Shame we weren’t here for longer but what a splendid place.
School holidays are an important metronome to the passage of time here in Sweden, as they punctuate the seasons with week long holidays where school closes and families take time off from work together to enjoy what the season has to offer.
It’s a little late for this post but time to update the blog with some stories about winter, this time about snow. In the beginning of December we had record amounts of snow in Stockholm, almost 30cm overnight at the start of December. The temperatures didn’t really drop very far but it was enough for us to experience true snow conditions here in the capital. Of course, this comes with it’s advantages as well as disadvantages.
