As the first few glimmers of summer make themselves known here in Stockholm, we are finally starting to feel the warmth of the sun and see the snow and ice begin to melt away. The dark winter days have for some time now been replaced with crystal clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine, although for most of March the temperatures have still been well below zero.
School holidays are an important metronome to the passage of time here in Sweden, as they punctuate the seasons with week long holidays where school closes and families take time off from work together to enjoy what the season has to offer.
